Upperware was founded in 1996 as a software company active in the field web applications. A host of seeming coincidences shifted the focus of activities ever more towards cultural heritage. Upperware is even today still a synonym for her founder, Jos Snellings. Most applications are developed on the basis of well established Open Source platforms and components (apache, tomcat, cocoon...). Upperware develops web applications that serve custom designed multimedial websites. We perform technical and functional analyses and maintain applications. Upperware's activities span the whole life cycle of a product, from the elaboration of a concept until and including implementation and maintenance. - inventory system for cultural heritage
- an on line XML editor
- document management via http-interface

For the time being the big question remains as to how these applications scale as the customer grows. The good part of this is, should it be necessary to move, then this can be done at a minimum cost: this is all 100% standard interfaces. You can switch JDO implementations, you can migrate your |
